The video of Demis Hassabis presenting at Oxford University some two weeks ago is most interesting.

http://livestream.com/oxuni/StracheyLec ... isHassabis

In the Q&A he was asked "AlphaGo now has an evaluation function for Go, is there any way of giving that back to Go players?"
The reply was "We'd love to do that" "Actually, after the match we have a whole series of expirements planned" "What representations
has our system built and do they match the intuition of top Go players?"

The timing of this question is at 1:02:40

Roll on summer!

Perhaps the AlphaGo Robot will walk into our club, buy us all a drink and then offer teaching games with feedback targeted at the appropriate level.

Awesome!

“Computer: Coffee, strong, black, triple sugar. And a game.”

This giving back to the Go community is something I’ve hoped for in the past few days … very excited to see how that may happen.

<edit>
Had to strike out the “black” specification b/c it would be stupid, no? Only specify what I want, no need to specify what I don’t want, right?
</edit>

This is great news! There are so many possibilities of this machine. Of course, I still want to see it play other professionals besides Lee. :mrgreen:

I take it your club is a pub? If so, more power to you. ;-)

Well, if we had a club in Kings Cross then perhaps it actually would walk in...

The Winchester Go Club does indeed meet in a pub - The Black Boy. It
describes itself as a "traditional back street boozer" - it is popular
with young professionals and students, so we get the occasional question
about Go - "What is that game?", "How do you play?"

I won't ask how you worked out that it might be a pub

I misunderstood this part and was ready to move to Winchester.
