It seems like tournament directors are in high demand. Just look at the 2011 Congress Volunteer page volunteer page

I am interested to learn about directing tournaments. (This topic does not seem to fit in any category on the forum)
I thought it would be helpful to have a page on this website about directing tournaments.

I am proposing to have a page about Tournament Directring or How to run a tournament?

There is a exhaustive manual posted on the AGA website, but it would help to have a forum discussion about specific tournament directing issues.

Some subtopics to consider are
Pairing by Hand
Pairing by Computer
pairing software (WinTD, Accelerat, PyTD, MGATD, AgathaTD,)
Pairing Methods (Swiss, MacMahon, Swiss-macmahon, round robin, self-paired, single elimination, double elimination)

I think a thread about it would do fine - you can learn how to direct a tournament from a lot of sources.

Speaking as both a contract bridge and go tournament director, IMO pairing is not the most important aspect of directing. To me the most important aspect of directing is the atmosphere. Tournament play can be stressful. As much as possible, player should feel relaxed, welcome, and at home. The players are guests and the TD is the host. Part of that atmosphere, OC, comes from running the tournament in a smooth and timely fashion. :)

One post is not enough for such a broad subject, maybe better a (sub) forum

If i have some topics on this subject i always post them mostly in the rules forum
there are many pages on sensei's about it (also no keyword just for this)

There is also a special section in senseis http://senseis.xmp.net/tournament/ but is not well used/maintained

I would suggest having discussions on the sensei's pages or asking here to create a subforum in the rules forum
