Hi all,
Does anybody know where to find sgfs of handicap games played between professional or top-amateur players? I've tried google, but only turn up references to the book Pro-Pro Handicap Go.

TIA

GoGoD has hundreds. For pro-pro, remember that in pre-komi days, handicap games between pros were the norm.

There's a book by Kageyama on the subject.

Thanks, John. I'd buy GoGod in a heartbeat, if I could, but there's a small problem - I still haven't been in Japan long enough to get a credit card, so it's difficult to buy things online. I closed my British accounts, so I'm pretty much stuck with cash and any money I can receive via PayPal for my songs.

I have seen the Kageyama book. It's very good, but I already have a handbook about handicap go from the Nihon Kiin.

What I would like are examples of pro-pro games to play over and draw my own conclusions about. I know where to find Dosaku's games, so I think I'll start there, but if anybody can point me in the direction of modern examples in one location, for free  , that'd be loverly.

The Slate and Shell books Masterpieces of Handicap Go volumes I and II are all games between established pros and young and.or student pros. Same problem with buying on line maybe but possibly these books would be available in a go bookshop or library. There is a two volume set of Japanese books Puro tai puro Oki Go Jissen Fu published by Sankaido.

If you look at the link shown below, you will find one sgf for game played by pro vs ama. Samsung cup is open to everyone and many amateurs were participating this tournament.

Also look at BC card cup.

Thanks, everybody.

I'll look for the Japanese book gowan mentioned next time I visit a large bookshop.

I'm enjoying the games clemi pointed me to, and I will check trout's link too.

I bought my copy 30 years ago at the Nihon Ki-in shop in Tokyo. No idea whether it is still in print. If not check out used book shops. The credit card issue might be a factor but it might be available by mail from Akashiya Shoten in Tokyo. Are there used book shops that have a lot of go books in Hiroshima?

If you can receive via PayPal, surely you could pay that way. We are not yet big enough to use credit/debit cards, so the main way for most people to buy is with PayPal.

Best wishes.
