Besides the four prequalified players Dickhut, Teuber, Obenaus and Radmacher, the four top players of the preliminaries qualify:

As usual, SOS creates meaningless results, in particular for places 1 and the place 4 qualification separation. Place 1: Despite cross-pairing in rounds 1 and 2, the first two rounds' SOS contribution of the opponents of players 1 and 2 was worse than lottery. Place 4: The places 4 to 8 sorting was not by skill but by the pairing luck's effect on SOS. With 7 new of 11 participants in comparison to 2011 German Championship preliminaries and finals, the tournament's pairing system has no chance to distinguish SOS from lottery even marginally. A bomb alarm in my train leading to its delay could have had a greater impact easily, but I just barely arrived on time for round 1:) At least the points criterion expresses fairly what has happened in the games, i.e. the two 5d players deserve their final places. Contrarily, the ratings are not reflected so well.

Congratulations.

I am happy to see that you're sticking to your opinion although SOS awarded you the first place here. But when the 4th player get the qualification with only 3 wins out of 6, he should feel lucky regardless of the tie breaker used.

Players 1 & 2 had a draw in round 4? That's pretty unusual.

The game felt like a draw during opening and middle game, we played equally strongly, did not believe the opponent's forcing moves or let get away with extra-sharp moves and so naturally the endgame byoyomi mistakes cancelled each other:)

wait... so if you're using tie-break methods in the tournament, then why allow even komi in the games?

Are you asking for the reason of integer komi in that tournament? The idea by its proponents was a greater likelihood of an on average finer number of wins placement criterion so that tiebreakers would be needed less frequently. Of course, this idea overlooks the possibility of a jigo creating a tie on the number of wins:)
