Game 6 day 1 has finished.

I've made commentary on the game so far at my blog:

enjoy!

I had never thought to read the thoughts of professionals competing in a title match via their Japanese blogs. Is there a website that gives links to active pro blogs or did you just stumble upon them? If not, maybe we could create a thread here on L19x19.

It certainly adds an element of excitement :) Thanks for sharing.

surprisingly no one has posted that here yet - Takao won the 6th game by resign, therefore tied the score at 3-3 so we are heading for a winner-takes-all game on the next Wednesday and Thursday

I usually stumble on them from other places. If you want to start a list, I could send you those I've found.

Congrats Takao (W). Black produced what I consider a successful fuseki. White ended up winning through a thick style that lead to a difficult invasion by B. Black had a 'non' ko threat that white refuted by deep reading to win by resignation.

My comments with game record:

I don't know if this is a complete list or if it's just the blogs hosted at goo.

Mimura's blog is he best IMO but Takao's is very good too, with the extra excitement of him being a top player.

There is a list at the bottom of the Nihon Kiin's index of players. First there is a section for player home pages (棋士のホームパージ) and then a section for player blogs (棋士のブログ). It has a few more than the goo listing. However, goo has some non-pro blogs, e.g. Go Weekly, that are not on the Nihon Kiin page.

after an exciting final game Cho U defended his title 4-3. it is a closer result than the previous two years, when he took the title from Yamashita Keigo 4-1 and defended it against Iyama Yuuta 4-2.

fans of Cho U can look forward to Monday, when second game of the Judan final, Iyama-Cho, takes place. Iyama currently leads 1-0

I'll have to go home and check* if that lower-right corner has ever been played before.

i guess i am late for you, but someone else might be interested too.

data based on GoGoD, summer 2011:
depending on what exact position you mean, the pattern is rare to non-existent.
namely, no match for position at move 15 considering the lower right quarter.
4 matches for move 13 searching lower right quarter. two of them were high handicaps, the other two Wang Qun - Rui Naiwei (1988) and Luo Xihe - Cao Dayuan (1995)
36 matches for move 13 with 9x9 square considered (that is, without the right side star). more than half of them are old Chinese games

the closest match is the above mentioned Wang-Rui game, one of the only two where white doesn't immediately respond at 2-2 (the other one is a 7 handicap)
