Re: Buying Chinese-size single-convex stones
Thanks, but out of those links only these are Chinese sized: http://en.aobo-shop.com/go-game-stones/ ... 60120.html (although they’re yellow color and a bit on the expensive side).

Buying Chinese-size single-convex stones
Does anyone know where I could buy Chinese-size single-convex stones online? Size 5. Can be yunzi, glass, or clay.

Re: Thickness of the board
OK, thanks. But is the somewhat thinner size of the board a problem for the bigger stones? This one's 1.8 sun.

Re: Thickness of the board
I've been using 36 for a while. Can see myself going higher. I ordered sampler of Blue Label size 38 to try out.

Re: Buying Equipment in the USA
What Galation said. In terms of quality of products, Japanese >> Korean > Chinese. GGG are nice for budget purchases, but their products will leave you with a sense of lacking. I do not recommend their veneer boards for club use; the stones sound horrible on those (YMI 1.2" shin kaya board is nicer ...

Re: Help Identifying Stones
Strangely, I’ve been playing using single-convex melamine stones this weekend, and it left the two fingers on my hand I use to grip the stones itchy. Almost like there is some allergic reaction. (Could also be because the air is dry, and rubbing skin against a dry surface makes it worse. Could also ...

Re: Replacement stones from YMI
Yes, the lead issue is a gamechanger for me. I don’t want to play with yunzi material anymore, despite liking its feel and appearance. I am not troubled by lead in yunzi stones, science is quite clear about this

Place to play slow turn-based games online
A lot of people at my workplace (we’re a data science shop), many of whom are from East Asia, became interested in go because of the AlphaGo event. What I am wondering is if there is a place to play long, turn-based games, where one of the players would log in and play a move, then log out; the ...

But then, when I looked up melanine, apparently, it’s also pretty harmful. Are there no safe single-convex stones? Can one buy ones made of clay or something?

I don’t hear the sounds made on the board, but what’s the wood used here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZPQfGmpfn0 ?

Re: Replacement stones from YMI
They replied and said that that “batch sizes are not uniform” and asked to send a picture of my old and new stones next to a ruler. Seems very weird, product quality-wise.

Replacement stones from YMI
Ordered 20 replacement single-convext yunzi stones from YMI. The stones that arrived are noticeably smaller than the ones I have. I thought for a second maybe I have Chinese-sized yunzi stones, but I doubt it, because a) I received a confirmation in the past that directed to a page that said ...
