I hope this means more people will play Go online. It's one of the best games for online:

- No hardware requirements. Even a potato can play Go.
- Bad internet is fine since it's turn-based (though those Asian countries have amazing internet).
- Replaying, counting etc. are way faster.

I'm so glad a super young guy is doing well in Japan. Also will we ever get a true successor to Hikaru no Go aka the greatest manga ever?

I hadn't been keeping up with the Go scene for a while, and today I decided to check the recent tournament results and saw very few international matches. What's the deal?

I think we need a new universal name for it. It would be much more convenient to say the name of the game to someone and they immediately know what it is, instead of inevitably having to explain that it's "a board game like chess".

Still a huge achievement for Iyama and Japan.

The Nihon Kiin was hyping up this event so much but I didn't see a single news from them since the tournament started. Came to check and it's already over.

Yeah the guy made enough money for a lifetime from Japan already, there's no reason to not branch out into the international competitions.
