Yeah I actually noticed that later in the actual game. I would have lost so badly if my opponent had realized. Actually you could probably summarise the whole game like that.

I finally beat a 10k in even game! Ahhhhhh I'm so happy! I've been struggling against 10ks ever since I started this journal!

I've been skimming through a lot of go books but realized pretty quickly almost everything was a little too hard. Currently I'm reading Elementary go series vol 1 and Graded go problems for beginners vol 1. (It's a bit sad to realize how much trouble I've got with the basics but at least I figured ...

So a bit of an update about how I'm doing.

Currently I'm 11k on OGS, maybe 2 games from ranking up to 10. We shall see how that goes. I'm on a 9 game winning streak so I'm a bit afraid I'm gonna crash and burn soon.

So I tried to play a game without trying to kill everything and lost. Looking back most of the games I tend to win are ones with intense fighting :/ I guess I was too passive in this game?

And I agree with you, my fundamentals are deffinitely shaky. That's why I'm currently going through Lessons in the Fundamentals of Go

This seems like the most important part to me.

Different people will have different recommendations for training regimes but I think it's important that you enjoy all of it or it will be tough to stick with.

So funny thing I realized today after a long long time of frustration. I was so confused about essentially being stuck at 15k for years and thought there was something weird about it. So I finally decided to take the time to take a long hard look at my game history.

The thing that kept bothering me ...
