Re: Android - Crazy Stone Deep Learning

I just played CSDL on iOS at 1D setting and it made a huge dragon which died. It didn't try to make shape even when it had a chance to.

Don't use preset strenght settings - they have no relation to anything, I don't know what 1d is in CrazyStone. Japanese 1d (weak, close to maybe Polish 3kyu ...

Re: Leela 0.10.0 vs Crazy Stone Deep Learning 5d on iPad 3

Leela is much stronger than Crazy Stone.

Yeah, sadly I had spent $80 on the PC version of Crazy Stone Deep Learning v 1.01 and then Leela 0.1.0 makes crazy stone seem like weak child play.

This topic is about mobile (iOS) version of CS against Leela on PC so I'm not sure if we are on the same ...

Leela is strong. I think P7 is quite regular move, it looks strange at first but I remember it played even at my go club by some low dan player.

Re: Leela 0.10.0 vs Crazy Stone Deep Learning 5d on iPad 3

Try to set a game with byo yomi 30s or 60s in CS DL - I think it then plays stronger than when you choose 5d in the settings.

I would say Conway took the idea of using simple rules to generate complexity, and using a Go equipment was just a convenience.

Re: Announcing GoReviewPartner - v0.5

I have a small problem on macOS with Leela and GRP
When I try to run sgf analysis in GRP, after I point the sgf file I get this error:

Re: New Mobile Friendly KGS Client - Shin KGS

As KGS has a PAID client allowing android mobile phones to access their services, it would probably not be in the best interest of their business model to allow a competing FREE mobile accessible KGS client to access their services.

So why present an API to the community in the first place? To ...

Re: Commonsense Go

The point of the SWIM thing proposed by djhbrown is to provide explanation for us, humans, in natural language, using our heuristics for description of situation on the board. Good enough for me. :) here we go... actually, as it happens, as far as i am concerned, that's not my point of the Swim ...

Re: Commonsense Go

I still think you need to give your reasons why you think "the ability to explain why while doing some task" is NECESSARILY better than "doing the task". What I mean by that, is why you think IN THIS CASE it implies being better at doing the task. We do not ordinarily expect that to be true ...

Re: Android - Crazy Stone Deep Learning

I played 4 games so far against 2d with slow time setting (hardware is iPhone5s). And scored two loses and two wins.
After first two loses I was impressed. Then I changed my approach and played two games very patiently and managed to win twice by killing big groups. Too easily I think ...

-how can SDK rank in Wbaduk be so strong considering dan ranke are actually weaker overall?
-what does i have to work on to improve now ?

It's simple -
1)sanbaggers
2) do at least 50 tsumego a day and review at least one pro game a day, play as much games as you ...

Re: Best software/app to play go across Mac, iPad, IPhone?

Try these go server apps for iPad/iphone:
- PandanetGo for IGS
- WBAduk
- Tygem

- KGS on Mac is available like on Windows.
On iOS is available through AlwaysOnPc app (but probably better wait for new clients as KGS has been opened for 3rd party)

Web based:
- OGS
- playok.com

If you want try some ...
