What event is this?

Post by emeraldemon »

I was watching a game on WBaduk last night between Park Yeong-hun and Luo Xihe. Comparing kifu it seems that the event was

2012温泉同安杯围乙联赛第5轮

Can someone tell me what this was? Google translate thinks that it's "5 of the 2012 Hot Springs Tong'an Cup Weiyi League",

I believe this is the same league tournament that we've been following due to the involvement of the quartet of Japanese participants.

I think it is Chinese class a league game.
Some of Korean plays for Chinese class a and some for class b. Class b schedule is completed in one week so some players prefer class b due to their game schedule. Otherwise class a schedule is spread over few months.

Normally competition in Class B is less fierce (because the top teams in B is promoted to A and the bottom teams in A demoted to B), but apparently this year Class B is almost on par with Class A for some reason.
