Go expenditures and significant others

im good with numbers but not good with money xD

A common ailment that I share.

Well my wife is VERY indesisive.

im the kind of guy whos like OMG EXPANSION FOR C&C4 MUST BUY.

I see I bought I emptied my wallet >.<

for me right now im stocking up on books ranging from 10k-3 dan. i think the last major purchace i made was 590 usd for books from kisedo(i sold a lvl 98 shura on ether saga >:3 )

I have no such problem, but i don't spend much on Go. I have a L&D book and a Tesuji book, and i believe if i can read these 2 three times, i can be a Dan player. My boyfriend bought me a set of Mid game books written by a Japanese 9P, the book is said to aim at 2 Dan or above level, So i haven't started reading it yet. I forgot my book for total beginner, i have read it through several times. And i'm satisfied to have these four (set of) books. And i think it's enough for me. I have many pdf Go books, and some other books that friends gave me as gift, but i seldom read them; i sometimes exchange books for reading with friends. Go equipements...my room is too small to afford enough space for nice Go equipements.

I always encourage my boyfriend to spend more time on Go, but he doesn't seem to be very interested in it. As a SDK, i think it won't be far for me to able to H9 him again

I spent a lot when I was starting, and only made one other purchase now and then. Now I mostly go through the books again, or go through books I haven't touched yet. I still haven't finished Cho Chikun's L+D and Tesuji, or Making Good Shape.

I think my next big go expenditure will be JF's series of books.

My wife is also limiting mainly the time I spend on go. I havent been on a tournament ever since our son was born. No problems concerning monetary expenses, probably because Im the stingy one in our marriage.

My wife doesn't seem to care one way or another. She knows I'm over careful with money. I do tend to buy expensive stuff when I do buy something, but its very rare I have to re-buy/upgrade anything that isn't computery based. I also don't buy that much that is computery based... just computers and cameras. So, most things in life I just buy one time

So, no, my wife doesn't try to control my Go purchases. Although, when I first got my Go set the cost was brought up a few times in random conversations
