Denver, Colorado Go club
If anybody lives in Denver, I'm hosting a go club where we will play games, watch videos, get games reviewed and swap books. It'll be on the last tuesday of every month.

Did this club ever get started? I live in Denver and would be interested in coming when I can if it is.

Not sure about Unicorn's club but there was group that met at the Mercury Cafe near downtown on some Sunday afternoons. They are still listed on the AGA website as an active club. See if you can contact BaghwanB here on L19, he was a member of the group.

Re: Denver, Colorado Go club
I actually attend the club in the Mercury Cafe pretty regularly, but it only meets every other week, and I sometimes play drums at my church, so there are some months where I am unable to attend at all. Also, we have no Dan level players that come, so I am unable to get teaching games in against much stronger players.
I used to go to the Colorado Go Center before it closed. It was a great experience for me because it seemed that at least half of the attendees were dan players. I don't want to brave traffic during rush hour to get tot he Boulder club, but I still may try out the Highlands Ranch club if I ever get a chance.

Re: Denver, Colorado Go club
Go players also sometimes meet on Tuesday evenings at a coffee shop on 6th and Washington called Pablos. I stumbled on it by accident, so I don't know if it is official or listed anywhere, but I've been there several times. The folks are friendly and it seems to be regular, so I would suggest checking that out.

I'll be visiting on biz in a couple weeks. Is there a contact I could call or email to see if the Tuesday night group is getting together when I am in town?

Re: Denver, Colorado Go club
And it would be awesome to update database@usgo.org on clubs that you definitively find are open or closed.
Whenever I travel, I use usgo.org and the "Where to play go" "at a club" feature to find and contact clubs for playing go.
There are three clubs listed for Denver, and I know the Fort Collins club is nice and friendly.

Re: Denver, Colorado Go club
I haven't been by Pablos in a long time, so I'm not sure if they still meet. However, if anyone would be interested in putting together an informal evening gathering somewhere in or not far from Cap Hill sometime during the week, I would love to be part of that, since I have no car and it's tough for me to make it to the Mercury Cafe on Sunday. In fact, I know the perfect place, a cafe on 17th between Gilpin and Williams called the Weathervane. It's a converted house with a pleasant and cozy upstairs.
Any takers?
