Well, Nintendo's over 100 years old and I think they started out making playing cards.

They did indeed. Hanafuda cards, to be specific.

Not only Hanafuda playing cards, they move to other kinds of traditional games Go, Shogi, Kaurta... (that's why the still sell boards)



In fact my board is a Nintendo one (二つ折 新桂 5号 - Folding model Shin-katsura no. 5) and some stones (プラスチック碁石 椿 - Plastic stones Camellia)... but I didn't find the bowls that time. This are quite common, good quality and cheap in Japan, I get mines in a Yotsubashi Camera shop for 2000 yens (20€) each.
