Handicap system? difference between 1 and 2 handi
Okay so the first handicap stone is just the komi ommited so it is like half a stone (a whole stone you take black and pass then its one stone and reverse komi) the second handicap stone is a whole one because it is like giving your opponent on stone handi and then passing. Why does the handicap system go .5,1.5,2.5 etc?
Problems worthy of attack prove their worth by hitting back!

The point of the handicap system is to produce evenly matched games. As it stands, white tends to win; the system is quite good, but if you were going to tinker with it the goal of the tinkering would be to help b, not w.

Simplicity of understanding, rather than simplicity of underlying principle. Since handicap go is not the main event anyway, it is not so obviously important to change it.
