Hello, I've been playing go for a while now and I love the game! I saw on youtube someone who replays pro chess games and commentates on them, and since I didn't see anything like that for go (all the games were either subbed or in a different language) I started to make some of my own! Come check it out and let me know if you want me to make more! The link for the 1st game is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikB3ltGt6Mw&feature=plcp . Thanks and hope you all enjoy!

I should try distracting my opponents, I mean if it works for professionals!

Ribbing aside, I think this is a good idea. But you might want to put more thought into the meaning behind the moves(or at least actually explain them). Around 7:24 as an example W counter ataris black and your comment is: "Now Black will have to respond if he wants to keep his position."(paraphrasing) Well WHAT position? Black doesn't want to lose that stone, because if white escape to the center the invasion was successful. My 2c for what it's worth.

Commentated games are useful because they can be used as learning tools. Having a stronger player tell you why a move can't be neglected. Or why one part of the board is more important then the other is helpful. Therefore if I were to try to review a pro game, who can hopelessly out read me. I'd try to stick to the fundamentals as much as possible. Forcing moves, making a base, leaning attacks, sector lines, weakness or strength of groups in middle game fighting, and cut points to name a few.

I think you might just be a little rough because you haven't done this before. And you'll definitely improve thinking seriously about pro games. :)

All and all I like the idea, and encourage you to do more(there can never be enough Go in the world!!). But you definitely want to refine your reviewing process.

I don't know if you found his videos. But Battousai posts his KGS lectures to youtube. Here is a link to one of his pro game reviews.

Have you seen gocommentary.com ?

http://www.gocommentary.com/

Videos of famous professional games, commented by a strong amateur.

This isn't videos, but http://gogameguru.com/get-better-at-go/ ... -go-games/ has sgfs commented by a korean professional, An Younggil 8p .

I think maybe if you want to do a video series like this, it might be good to start with a game with some professional commentary like the An Younggil to make sure you're on the right track, and then fill in with some more explanation where you feel it's necessary (the pros often don't comment on "obvious" things).

By the way, that joseki you've never seen before is the most common 3-4 joseki by a pretty wide margin... http://senseis.xmp.net/?34PointHighAppr ... ideContact

those are both great ideas, i'll definitely study some more pro annotated games :). And it's pretty crazy how much I learned from pro games! I'm still new to it, so yeah i agree, my reviewing can definitely use some work. The other hard part is fitting it into less than 15 minutes. I feel if I get carried away, 15 minutes will go by and I'll hardly show any of the game haha
