walleye and I agreed on eight stones handicap. I'm creating the thread.

My first objective is to spread my stones around. So many black stones everywhere make me uncomfortable. I want to see white on every side.
The point of my move is to attack the corner, put pressure on Black's side stone below, and to have an easy access to the center. The placement is a bit unusual (R14 would be normal) but I think it's OK for a high handicap game.
If Black touches me with
, I might even ignore it for a short while. I really don't want to start local battles before I plant my stones on most sides. It is too easy for Black to launch a good attack if I start doing something locally. Then Black will most likely get thickness, and the game will simplify for him considerably. That's why I want to spread my stones around. They will erase any thickness Black may build after we start fighting.
If Black pushes further with
, I will treat my stone there as a reduction move and attack the other corner with double approach. I don't mind giving black a bit of territory. It's thickness I'm afraid of.

Is it just me or does walleye's move seem to be THE way to open in 8-9 stone handicap games?

I agree with dusk eagle, that move seems hard to deal with. Maybe on 9 stones it would be easier, since I can run out with the middle stone in case of a pincer, but I don't know here.
By the way, shouldn't your comments be hidden?

I was thinking about approaching from the other side at first (at a). This would split the board in two on large scale.
However, I want to put more pressure on Black's stones on the bottom right after I attack at b.
I need to create a favorable position for fighting, where I have as many stones as Black.
I could attack at b immediately, but I want to avoid early battles before I spread around a bit.

Black restricted the movement of my stone at R6, so I need to help it. I could simply jump out and then attack the side stone.

I played the game move to restrict the corner and put some pressure on K4.
Playing on the forth line would have been safer but... safety last, after all it is an 8 stone handicap game.
