This is the first serious game I've played in about three months, so I'm interested in some thoughts. I was lucky to win this game due to a misread.

Re: L19 Tournament Game
Some ideas. Basically White played well until he got a big wall and didn't really do anything with it.

One more thing - since you played a 4-5 facing the top side, you should probably approach the top rather than the bottom.

Re: L19 Tournament Game
That's a fascinating game in the middle - way too confusing for me to comment about.
BTW, I borrowed Shaddy's file to make my comments, so the remains of some of his may be in here.
I may be wrong about the lower right fuseki.

Re: L19 Tournament Game
The lower right is an interesting thing. I'm not sure how it would go if Black pincered, because since White is closer, he has more options against the corner. I suspect that the enclosure is correct, and the result of being too close is that if Black invades the bottom side, White's group becomes weaker than it would otherwise be.

Re: L19 Tournament Game
o3 is not wrong: it's one of the many standard moves against the Chinese opening these days (I'm assuming the 5-4 point doesn't alter things, which may be an incorrect assumption and make a higher move like n4 better globally).

Re: L19 Tournament Game
There were two big ones, one my each color. I didn't realize that he'd have miai of killing the top left or cutting in the middle, and he misread a ko threat after that.cyclops wrote:What misread? I love them
