Cool 'n' funky Go stuff on Ebay

General discussions about gobans, etc., go here. If you're selling go equipment, it should go in the Trading Post.

Cool 'n' funky Go stuff on Ebay

Post by Inkwolf »

Even though I am well-supplied with go gear now, I still can't resist occasionally cruising Ebay and seeing what's out there. Here are a few very cool items for any of you with seriously deep pockets looking to blow some major cash on totally unnecessary Go-related stuff, or those of you who, like me, just like to see what's out there. :D

Japanese vase with Go players scene on it.

Two sets of old Chinese Go bowls

EDIT-- I removed the links since they were long over with.

Several months ago, I came across an auction for a handful of Go stones that were taken from an abandoned Japanese bunker during WWII. That was also pretty cool, but it's been over for some time and I can't find the completed listing.

Another weird Go item for the very wealthy (or more wealthy than me, anyway) that I couldn't resist posting.

A carved stone with a Go scene on it.

My inner girl would dig that set. The woman in my life would throw it at me.

I would totally buy it, if I had $19,999 to blow....

Cool! I barely skimmed that thread. In any case, I think that turtle is the single coolest piece of Go equipment I've seen. Let us know if you get an answer to that question, please!

For $20k, you could contract out something really nice from your local artisan...
It looks nice, but I think the price is a bit high. I've seen some really nice sculptures move for that much money.
