Does anyone have any reccommendations for a good SGF editor that runs in Linux? I'm currently using Mugo and the lack of a proper move tree is driving me crazy! I've tried Cgoban too but it was really awkward (not at all like the windows version), so please tell me what you other Linux users use.

Was the Cgoban you tried "Cgoban 3"? The first Cgoban, if I recall correctly, was a C program, and hasn't been worked on in ages. The new one is Java, and should work on Linux (can't confirm right now).

Use the java quickstart version of the kgs client rather than the outdated cgoban you can get from a normal repository. It is just like cgoban on windows.

Most people use the KGS client as described above.

My other recommendations are GoWrite2 which has some good features for printing diagrams and Vim which has superior search and replace functionality.

I use cgoban (the program that launches kgs), and that works perfectly for normal things, but I Believe moyogo works fine under wine, if you demand fanciness.

I use CGoban in Linux too, but if you want something that doesn't need Java, Quarry is also pretty good. Just be careful when adding variations, because it will make multiple branches for a move at the same coordinate, on the same move number (which is why I usually use CGoban for editing and Quarry for quick replays).

I use Drago running under Wine (Ubuntu), I'm not very technical so luckily I didn't have to do anything complicated to get it working.

Thanks everyone. I can't get Cgoban3 working, but Drago seems to work well so that's fine.

I prefer GoGUI. It' running java, works on Linux well and has simple user friendly interface.
