Android client questions/suggestions

Post by Tofu »

I just bought the android client of KGS and for the most part am finding it to be a fairly good app. There's a couple things that bother me and I was wondering if they are possible and I'm just missing it, or if they are to be implemented.

The first is the lack of being able to see my own profile, or my own rank. I started a new account to play on my tablet and after winning a few games am unable to tell what my rank is from the lobby screen. It would be helpful to see this information.

I also like to review games I just played. Is there a way to do that from within the client? Right now I am downloading the game from the website and opening it in another app.

I don't think this is implemented yet, but I would also like to someday be able to enter the chat rooms and see the online user lists.

Overall quite a nice app for playing games. I much prefer to play go on my tablet than on my computer so I am very happy with the purchase.

This you can currently do by swiping to the left and then joining all the rooms. The swipe over has been a challenge to me, but once you get all the rooms listed, you'll get a notification for new chat, and it's easy to get to the different rooms.

Right, you can't see your info.

I thought there was a way to load games from your game history, but I checked, and right, there isn't.

I do plan on adding features to the android app until it has all the features in the "main" app. It will come, but it is coming pretty slowly. I'm sorry about that.

If you use the android app to record games you can load from that list of games on your phone...also you can load one of your unfinished games...but I imagine that's not exactly what you were looking for...

I recently purchased the nexus 10 and am enjoying the kgs app, however when i swipeover to try and join a room none of the buttons i see work. Is this a bug in the 10 or am i missing something simple?

Strange, there should be a menu button that once you press it gives you the option to join a chat room.
