Help to identify an interesting game

Post by macelee »

I found this on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... gJ3gcTBzqg

The two player appear to be Imamura Toshiya and Murakawa Daisuke. The tournament could be NHK Cup. But I found no games between these two player in recent years. The game cannot be too old because Murakawa is young.

The game contains a rare "ishi no shita" and I'd love to include it in my database.

Thanks to Kombilo and GoGoD:
Murakawa Daisuke 5d - Imamura Toshiya 9d, W+3.5 (Komi 6.5)
58th NHK Cup, Round 1, 2010-06-28 (Broadcast 2010-08-01)
And the game:

Am I sadistic if I enjoyed Imamura's facial expressions?

Why does he bother playing A15? He clearly sees the under-the-stones play by then...what does A15 get him?

4 captured white stones. It's a 3 point sente yose play.

Edit: I wrote this before Uberdude posted. It seems he counted things differently to me, but I can't see where I went wrong. I'm going to post this anyway in the hope that someone will point out my mistake.

Capturing first is 2 points better for black.
Points gained after Black A15:

White: Territory 4 + Captures 4 = 8
Black: Captures 4
Difference = 4 points

Points gained without Black A15:

White: territory 3 + Captures 3 = 6
Black: 0
Difference = 6 points
A 2 point sente is big in the end game.

Splatted, white only gets 3 points of territory when he captures 4 stones: b14 has to be filled.
