1001 GoGoD Games for your Coffee Break #45 (7 Mar 2013)

Post by John Fairbairn »

Having pointed out in the last two postings that go records are not always as old as one might expect, we go the other way today and present a game with a double double ko that is possibly much older than you might have predicted.

It is from China (hence old Chinese rules) from about 1735, and is there known as the Windlass Ko - the raising and lowering of the windlass of a well being likened to the endless ko fights.
