Now here is the shortest game (by moves) that was lost on time. Normally, you would think that the player spent a long time on his fuseki but in this case not so. In the Nihon Ki-in they have some hotel rooms on the eighth floor for visiting pros to use and Ushinohama, who plays in the Kansai Ki-in in Osaka, went to his room after the lunch break and fell asleep. They restarted the game on time after lunch and waited for him to turn up but Yamabe won, on time, without another move being played.
