Hi everyone, this is my first time posting a game for review.

I felt I played quite well and going through the review I couldn't see my big mistakes, however I won by a small margin. So I'd like to have the mistakes pointed out to me by stronger players. The game is pretty representative of my 'style', if you can say that a low SDK has any style

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure how to add my own comments to the .sgf- could someone point me in the right direction?

For the time being I'll put my few thoughts below. I played as white.

Looking at the first couple of moves, I don't feel very good about them. It feels to me like if he approaches my 3-4 in the bottom right he could build a lot on the right hand side, or if with move 5 he encloses the bottom left I'll feel uncomfortable- do I play on a mid-point where both sides have potential development (i.e. k3 or k4), do I enclose my corner- but then he gets the mid point which seems very large. As it works out I think he lets me off easily by enclosing the top right, which faces a side which to me seems less important that the bottom. So although we both get enclosures and extensions I feel mine is bigger than his.

B13- I feel like this is a mistake by him but not sure how to punish

W20- I think this should have been high, the plan was always to get the pincer stone out, and places higher this would have been easier, and probably easier to use to limit the potential of his framework in the top right.

W22- Should probably just jump out, because if he plays the sequence starting with B31 @ L16, W K15, B N15 etc. then I've helped his framework a lot

W42- I feel like this is wrong, I wanted to really limit what he could achieve in the top right, but the shape feels wrong and I spend the next couple of moves trying to fix it.

W66- I'm not sure If I should continue to push here or not. And also not sure the best way to then attack that group in the centre and profit from doing so- as I don't expect to be able to kill it.

W70- Gets messy and I lose what I had of a framework here, plus he gets to strengthen himself in the centre a lot. Maybe a one point jump would have been better if I wanted to get ahead?

W100. Big mistake. Obviously.

W170 is a bad habit of mine, even if he plays B12 I still have the atari's on the the 1st line later, so this is pretty small.

Hello i have ideas about a few moves.

:b13: isn't the kind of move you punish directly. It's almost as though black passed and let you get two moves in a row. Almost any move punishes this type of move.

:w20: :w22: i don't really know how to comment on these.

:w42: This isn't wrong because of shape or anything. I think it's wrong because it is too timid.

w42 forces black to connect his groups and the following moves force him to take territory while white secures an already secure group.

The m15 group looks strong enough for white to jump in deeper and prevent black from making as much points.

:w56: why? Did you play this? Was it to attack the black group? or Did you play this to connect your own two groups?

:w70: is a good move. :w74: is the mistake.

:w98: I know it's hard to find moves at this point in the game but try to appreciate how little this move does.
:w102: This one isn't as small as 98. but it still seems small

Thank you both for your comments.

@ Unusedname, it makes sense to me that 42 isn't deep enough, I needed to have more confidence in the strength of my group there. Move 98 I think stems from the same problem, feeling like I needed to secure myself without really thinking about how difficult it would be for B to mount any kind of attack on that group.

56 yes I guess I played it wanting to link my groups together- which I (now) don't think works anyway, and I was also thinking of sealing him into the corner and making more territory around that area myself.

@ Edlee, is your suggestion for 36 @ L18 so that he can't connect his groups together?
and is your suggestion for 60 because I can then threaten the cut at M4/ steal his eye space there?

Hi zac, yes, and yes. For :w60:, L3 is a local vital point -- just wanted to point it out, even if you don't play it. :)
