Annual Publications on Selected Go Statistics

Post by SmoothOper »

I was wondering if there are any publications of Go statistics, probably by club national club China, Korea, or Japan, that compiles statistics and outliers including pro records for the year. I am thinking like median game lengths and distributions, point totals. Common opening broken down by rank, resignation, point difference, etc. Notable outliers, largest dead dragon, highest scoring game, most ko fights etc. I don't know if anyone else would think that that is interesting, but I would.

A limited number of these statistics can be found in the annual yearbooks of Japan, Korea, and China. A database such as the one included in GoGoD can be analysed statistically to your heart's content. ez4u has posted some fascinating statistical studies of fuseki use, for example.

Where can I find these yearbook statistics?

I am aware of the GoGoD, but I am interested in a bit more digestable post analyzed authoritative form, with to some extent manual curation and high lights. So I could say for example, "San ran sei lost overall last year, see the book says so!"
