Zones

Post by SmoothOper »

I have been wondering about the idea of zones in go it seems that Go Seigen(http://senseis.xmp.net/?GoSeigenGroup) and O Meien(http://senseis.xmp.net/?ZonePressPark), both had a concept of zones on the board. In one case the zones are somewhat static, in the other they shift around. I wonder if there are any other theories by pros about zones of play.

caveats: 1) I can't find anywhere that calls what Go does a zone that is my interpretations of some the theory floating around on the web, and I can't even find the original link with the yellow and blue colored areas. 2) I am not talking about Moyos.
