But I can't see the continuation after white goes here. It seems that white either gets away or there's a ko where white takes first. :scratch: It's really bugging me, is there anything black can do?

Usually in endgame problem books ko is considered a worse result for the opponent. The books will post solutions consistent with this idea.

hmmm, okay O: the reason I asked was that on this page on sensei's http://senseis.xmp.net/?EndgameTesuji18, it shows white 1 as white's resistance and that it is futile.

Ko should be fine then, thanks guys O:
