I shall admit I liked this one the least - I had hoped that the fourth video would serve to tie up loose ends from the previous three. But no matter. It's interesting enough.

More importantly, what happens to these videos now?

As for what happens, I believe they plan to release the video for free, to be used to promote go.
Not sure if they've talked about licenses or remixing, though, as I didn't follow their diaries.

Now, given that, there are a few things that I didn't like, and that make the video seem like it's calling to a specific set of people.

What I noticed is there are no children in any of the spots.

Incidentally, the English word "spot" has a lot of meanings, but none of them is that of the German word "Spot", which is "ad(vert(isement))" or "commercial". Not sure why this mistranslation is catching on, but perhaps it should stop here in case it goes official.

I thought this was all there is, except for a "making of" video which will only be accessible to doners. Maybe swalther could shed a little light on the subject.

The following yt-comment on the "Master the Game"-spot summed it sort of up:

Unfortunately all trailers are not useable as commercials for go IMHO. I showed all three ones to several people, some of them know about this game without playing themselves, some never heard of it. And absolutely no one got a clue what the commercial is about or have any interest of looking up what this "go" is. Most of them asked themselves why there is more swimming, boxing and more in it. Technically the clips are solid made but from the promotional point of view they don't. [sic]

Basically one needs to look at the commercials from the point of view of someone who knows nothing about the game. (Otherwise, what's the point of them?)
And I don't see how you can spark some sort of interest in that demographic without even telling them what they're supposed to be interested in.

Here's an idea: how much footage would we have to change if we wanted to switch the promotional topic to kitesurfing? Clearly some of it, since there is more footage of go than of kitesurfing. Not much more, though.

As an aside, I found the comparison of go to sex in the last spot distasteful.

Little known fact, until it was banned in the US in the late-80's, more Americans participated in dwarf throwing than played go.
