Some losses

Post by SoDesuNe »

A lot of simple-minded and single purpose moves ahead! I apologize up front!

I pre-commented a bit.

This one is full of decision-making-mistakes, I think.

And here comes a lot of reading mistakes.

Game 1: try 80 at k17. Killing stones is pretty hard.

Some comments from a 3-dan friend for the first game:
:w20: at F15, when the goal is to limit Black. R17 is possible, too, when White has confidence in his Life and Death. If Black plays F15, White D14 and when Black jumps still ahead, White should invade L17.
:w48: should definitely be the inside cut.
:w52: can still attack but needs to jump farther at K6.
:w54: can be at L7 to sustain the attack.
:w66: should be at L7 for the same reasons.
On move :w80: White is ahead in solid territory but Black has more potential with his top group. White's goal should be to play moves which threaten Black's lower group and reduce the top (e.g. K11). Bound to be a close game but still possible.

Some comments from the same friend on the second game:
:w16: approaching high is better. When Black attaches underneath, White should make the Tiger-mouth-shape and instead of extending (which would lead to an overconcentrated position), White should approach the other Komoku.
On :w18: , White's goal is to play R12. For this he does not need to strengthen Black's corner. Just play R12 directly and keep all possibilities.
:w30: is fine.
:w32: has to Hane on the first line.
:w52: C6 is good.
:w62: The bottom is not really important because Black is so strong nearby. White should use this move to help his pincer stone (e.g. D11)
:w72: O/N14 but not Hane.
:w98: White should play B18.
#104: at H15.
#108: W should play T10, so that Q7 becomes Sente.
#116: White does not need this move. B5 still makes a possible game.
