A win and a loss

Post by VincentCB »

Hi,
I played these two games in the CGA online league. Both opponents are around KGS 1d. I would appreciate some comments.

I won the first game by a small margin. I tried playing a territorially tight game, but it just felt weird and unnatural :-?

In the second game, my opening ploys didn't turn out so well. I managed to get an acceptable result in the lower left, but my opponent's persistent invasions finally got me.

Thanks in advance!

Some comments on the first game. You played well, but you lost some points in the endgame. You were ahead in the main part of the game.

Very interesting fights in the ends.

I have added a few comments and variations in the sgf.

Thanks for the comments! The endgame is definitely my biggest weakness. Additionally, I was often under time pressure during these games: my slow pace and Canadian byo-yomi don't make a very good mix!
