The individual authors on L19 own the copyright to their reviews by default, because the site didn't have a different policy when it was setup. So I'm not confident it's no problem to copy these reviews. I think the reviewers need to give an indication they are okay with copying their work, as SL has an Open Content License.
I don't think anyone would object in reality, but we have do the right thing, even though its a pain.

I think SL does a good job of books list/reviews and its the correct place to put those. A review is not a discussion, its a review.

Now I know that some review are posted here, and the some discussions develop about those reviews or the books themselves. But I think the best solution, rather than copy or move it to SL (or vice versa) - is to just add the links to relevant L19 threads/posts to the SL list, so people who want to read more about a book, different views and such, can have the info handy.

I would also say that if there is a need of an index page of book reviews, as daal did here (and as others did for other subjects) - a much better place for such lists is either on SL or just create a dedicated site/page (possibly within the L19 family, accessible from the L19 home page and outside the forums.) Conceptually, a forum is for discussions which are organized into threads and posts, not for indexing. Even if a forum offers some (very poor, imho) functionality for some indexing.

The bottom line is: there is no need the various *mature* services we have cannot work together, and even overlap to a certain extend. It is certainly better than trying to either duplicate content or fracture it.

PS>
I think it might even be a good idea to create a 'index repository' site - with pages of go-indexes for various topics. The indexes can unify all the various Go sites and blogs giving people a way to quickly access all the content related to a particular topic. Sort-of like an aggregator, but for links only. Just an idea...
