Yeah, I got curious and clicked around for a bit using google translate, found something that had been discounted 100% from 500 to 0 Yen, but didn't manage to get it onto my phone. Are they offering any tsumego books?

I found the article but I don't see it on Google play yet. I guess they might have region locked it?

The App itself isn't region locked. I installed it on my Nexus today. You do need to have some kind of account though. Scratch that, there's a guest login, though I don't know what the restrictions are if you login as a guest.

Those are links for Yugen no Ma, Japanese wbaduk. That's not e-gobooks unfortunately. I have those already. The funny thing is the tablet version is not region locked but the phone one is. I'm guessing that's a mistake. I use both regularly now.

Finally found it, and it is region locked. I'll have to workaround that later. I already have a bunch of purchases in the egobooks store that reading on a dedicated app will be better than chrome.

I got a response from Nihon Kiin E-gobooks that it's intentional, and if you're abroad, you should use the browser based version.

I can't think of any technical reason for this.
