Two more tournament games

Post by thirdfogie »

Here are two games played at a recent tournament. Some personal context is
hidden below.

I played two of my most frequent opponents.

In round 1, I played A.N. Other3. Before this game, my record against him was 0-3, and the
defeats have been getting worse. He is even older than I am, so I cannot use
my age as an excuse.

In round 3, I played A.N. Other11. Before that game, my record against him was 7-1. Strangely,
Other11 had won the last two games he played against Other3.

In the summer, I promoted myself to 3kyu in BGA tournaments after winning 10
out of the previous 14 games. I was now back at 4kyu, after winning 1 out of 6 played
at 3kyu.

This was my first tournament since (partly) recovering from illness. The
location is very near to my home, so I did not want to miss the chance.

It was also the first time I used a tablet computer to record the moves.
Despite one problem, it now feels like the best way for me to do that.

Comments are invited.

Round 1

Round 3

Edited to correct the date in the second game record.

I have made some comments to the second game too. Black could attack the white group on lower right more agressive I think.
Some variations are merely test. Take it with a grain of salt.
