1st Wbaduk European Top 8 Champion League 2014

I haven't heard too much about it, but it looks to be a pretty nice prize pool.
First round is in two days.

It seems to have been organised at very short notice, last week it was supposed to start on Monday. I must say though, it is a great format - an 8 player league will be very interesting. I'll bet on the younger players scoring above their rating - 'net favours the youth in my experience.

Re: 1st Wbaduk European Top 8 Champion League 2014
Wbaduk sponsored a varsity match between Oxford and Cambridge Universities that I played in recently at the London Open after Christmas last year, also put together on short notice. The budget was generous by our standards: they gave us 8 players plus hangers-on dinner, printed sweaters and £40 prize money each. Hwang Inseong's wife Semi was involved in organising it (plus Toby Manning and other BGA people). It seems they want to make it a regular event.
So it appears Wbaduk (which has some funding from the Korean government for cultural outreach stuff I believe) is stepping up its involvement in European Go which is nice.
And agree this looks a nice event with strong player line up. I hope the sgfs are available afterwards (or will they be strange gibo format?) and games aren't ruined by misclicks.
