Information on Japan

Hi

A friend of mine is designing a tour which introduces British music lovers to Japanese music and dance. She asked me if there were any books or websites that I would particularly recommend as a primer to Japanese contemporary and historical culture.

Most of the resources I thought of are probably far too Go-specific. Does anyone else on this board have any advice?

Culture Japan sounds like a good site for anyone really. It has info on Japanese culture and is well written. Hope this helps:

http://www.japan-guide.com/ is a great website with guides and locations to get to the best of contemporary and historical places of Japan.

It has helped me the 3 times I've been there to find great places!
