T-shirts and Pandanet sponsored tournaments in the US

Post by happysocks »

Asked if anyone knew how to get Pandanet t-shirts in the funny t thread where drmwc indicated that most probably the only way is to either participate in a Pandanet tournament or talk someone who has one out of theirs. Figure the chances of my finding someone with a small t and talking my way into it are flapjack thin (not very good at pitching plus would probably end up giving them a t-shirt or something). Also am curious now if we have such things in the US, like maybe congress or something like that? City League was all my search brought up.

An almost sure way to get a t-shirt is to attend the US Go Congress, play pair go and win a game or two. Or, if you are very charitable and don't want to upset your opponents by beating them, then try dressing up and winning one of the best-dressed awards. ;-)

See http://www.gocongress.org/ for congress info.

I see. Thanks! Not sure about the other stuff but, if I ever learn how to play this game attending a Congress is definitely something I'd enjoy doing. Looks like the cards are clearly stacked against me yet I will do my best to earn one of those pie in the sky Pandanet pullovers...

No. Just wearing those socks should do.

(Note: I did NOT write “Wearing just those socks should do.”)

Theres two types of shirts that I know of. Theres the one that you get for playing in the City League/Pair Go, and those that you get for organizing the City League. I might be convinced to find one at congress for the right offer.
