A very nice motivational quote, indeed. If I recall correctly, this is by American radio host Ira Glass. It used to be my desktop wallpaper.

The interview is indeed very good (I hear it once or twice a year, likewise with Jobs' commencement speech.) This webcomic is also a pretty good sum-up (also take a look to Bill Waterson's, and I'm not linking it directly so everyone can take a good look at the web

For years I had a poster inspired by the chess game between Max von Sydow and Death from The Seventh Seal as my wallpaper. A few months ago I lightened up:
