Anyone tried ordering books from Amazon.co.jp? I can't see that they ship internationally.

Ordering with amazon.co.jp from outside Japan is no problem at all !!!

Thanks! Hmm. 1400 yen for a single item single ship. I'll have a think.

Unfortunately, the cheapest books are ones sold by Amazon marketplace and it seems that a lot of those don't do international shipping.

For used items, and books affiliates stock, you have to look in the description to make sure they ship internationally. I've used google translate to good effect for this when the page doesn't translate itself well.

I make an amazon.co.jp order 2-3 times a year and just get a bunch at once to make shipping lower. It's fairly convenient and fast.

Some marketplaces shippers do international but it's rare you'll get more than 1-2 books from one so the shipping ends up being a higher part of the price.

Ah! Good points well made.

I'm thinking of getting some SDK tsumego books. Wish they had the 'look inside' feature so I know what I'm getting. I might need some time on SL to work out what I want.

Keep in mind that Japanese ranks are a bit inflated. If you're looking for SDK tsumego you can look for any 1-3d level books.
