SDK Level Up Thread

Hey guys. I've helped a bunch of different SDKs break through to low dan over the course of my not amazingly long Go career, and I figure I could probably help you guys get to where you want to be.

I'm not going to be charging for this service because I'm weak and I feel like a lot of the kinds of answers I'll be giving out have to be taken with some amount of salt anyways.

I plan on having a small study group, I don't want more than 5 people in it, and I want to get to known each of you in and out of the game. I think I can usually tell what people need to break through that 1d barrier, and I think that if you have the capability of reaching SDK, you most likely have the capability of reaching low dan.

First 5 SDK to sign up get in, or everyone who signs up before next week, if less than 5 SDKs are interested.

I'd like a:
Screenname/name you'd like to be referred to
Age
Current Rank
How long you've been playing
Target Rank(if you don't have one, say so)
Attach an SGF of a game you've played recently.

I plan on playing games 1v1 with you guys and reviewing them through Twitch streaming with the rest of you, and assigning homework to complete.

Please do not sign up if you are just curious and don't plan on putting in hard work or effort. Improving in Go is a difficult process, and having to do things outside your comfort zone like difficult problems or replaying memorized games or learning long sequences are often part of the process. I want people who are open to do these things.

Eastern Time(EDIT: UTC -5, for clarification), most likely on the weekends for the full broadcasts, but I'm going to try to schedule games with you guys 1 on 1 during the week according to your individual schedules.

I'll be moving to Australia early next year - so the time difference might be interesting (tomorrow 8 hours earlier) but I'll give it a shot if you'll have me.

Seems like a fantastic idea. I live in a crappy timezone (GMT+1) and only one of my three accounts is currently SDK, but if that's ok, I'll gladly take a spot

I learned to play about 10 years ago, got to maybe 5k, then didn't play for many years. have been playing quite a lot the last 1.5 years
no precise targets, I'd like to gain a couple of stones the next couple of years...

I would like to reach at least 1k, but getting a solid dan ranking would be the best

I am playing as black (tenkyu), but I did a lot of mistakes, he shouldn't have lived that easily with those 2 groups. Also I played a silly move at the end :/

Please pm me your email addresses, the best way to contact you(I have facebook, skype, gchat), when is best for you to meet for a stream on the weekends, and when is best for you to play games during the week.

If you miss a weekend stream, I will try to put it in the past broadcasts so that you can watch.

For those who were unable to join, when a member graduates a long time from now, I'll consider taking more people in.
