SlugGo and parallel game analysis

Post by cmhobbs »

I was reading the GTP documentation in the Metamachine section of the GNU Go info page and stumbled across this mailing list post: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnugo ... 00060.html

It's a really neat description of SlugGo, which apparently uses parallel game analysis to beat GNU Go. It's interesting reading. Here's the description of the Metamachine where I found the post: https://www.gnu.org/software/gnugo/gnugo_19.html#SEC196

Sorry if it's old news, it just seemed relevant to the forum and a search for SlugGo came up empty. :D

The problem is, too old. Look at the dates on that piece. In 2004 that would be against ManyFaces before it was using a MCTS evaluator (the piece didn't say what version of MFOG, whether 10 or 11).
