Help! Let me help you to show (off) your go equipment

Post by sybob »

Send your pictures please!

You like go, you like your goban, your go stones and bowls.
I think the appreciation for the game can be enhanced if more people see how beautiful it is.
I want to show nice go equipment on a dedicated website.
So, please be so kind as to send me some pictures of the things you like most!
Mail to: goishi at goishi.nl or pm me.

I would also very much appreciate to receive (and be allowed to publish online, credits due) pictures which capture the atmosphere and spirit of playing go.

Do yourself a favour, and show off your equipment!

Hello (fellow) Catlver,

Thank you for directing me and others to that other topic.
Browsed it with interest.
Still, that is not exactly what I meant.
So, I hope readers here will not refrain from sending pictures if they feel inclined to do so.

First, I think nice go equipment deserves a dedicated website (at least in the country where I live). Not somewhere in a forum. Anything which helps broaden interest in go is helpful IMO. Easy access to a dedicated website and more visibility for everything related to go can be of help, I think. Perhaps it even helps enhance appreciation for the material we sometimes play with so thoughtlessly (speaking for myself here, of course).
Second, I am not sure many people (go players and non go players alike) are familiar with this forum and that specific topic. Even more so for non-English speakers.

So, even though there is a separate topic on this forum, I still wanted to present a variety of nice go equipment on a separate, dedicated website. As I am not familiar with copyrights by photographer and this forum, I thought I better first ask to make pictures available or copy them from here (without prior consent).

To illustrate my reasoning for a specific website: the photo album now attracks between 300 and 600 visitors a week. That's much more than I could have hoped for. The topic you mentioned probably is hardly viewed at all. Visibility counts.

Note for suppliers and sellers: no, it is not a webshop and I do not offer go equipment for sale.
