I've been lurking for a few months now and I've decided its high time to join the party!

I'm mostly hoping to improve my game (of course, who isn't?) but also to have a chance to to schmooze with other players -- since I don't personally know anyone who plays, and anonymous online games tend to be all business.

A little about myself: I live in the lovely Pacific Northwest US, I've been playing for a little more than a year, and I look forward to getting to know some of you better.

I attended my first Portland Go Club meeting on Tuesday and played a few 13x13 games with another new player. It was a bit intimidating to have strong players watch and make comments, but it was also a blast! I particularly liked the experience of playing games face-to-face and I definitely learned from all the advice. I hope to make a habit out of attending these meetings.
