Nihon Ki'in 'improves' website breaking all story links

Post by ez4u »

On April 1st the Nihon Ki'in upgraded its website. At the same time it changed the structure of the site, breaking all our past links to stories about tournaments (at least).

Previously stories used to be in a date-based structure .../match/YYYY/MM/asdfgh.html
This has been changed to .../match_news/match_info/asdfgh.html
So far in my checking all the final documents seem to be unchanged and substituting 'match_news/match_info' for the original 'match/YYYY/MM' finds the original article.

Edit: At least some .../news/YYYY/MM/qwerty.html links have turned into .../event/events/qwerty.html links. However, some stories that were not about 'events' seem to have ended up in different categories.

Maybe April 1st is significant.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Unfortunately it is due to the start of Japan's fiscal year rather than just an April Fools joke. :-|
