Considering that Iyama Yuta is the only Japanese in top 50 rank in goratings.org at the present, Nihon Ki-in must treat him like a hero right now.
Placed at number two, he may be overestimated by the rating method, but at the hi-end rank matches, he has one lose against Ke Jie, 2 wins 1 lose against Park Jungwhan, 2 wins 3 loses against Lee Sedol, one win against Mi Yuting, one win one lose against Zhou Ruiyang, and with a whole lots of wins from domestic game, number two seems reasonable to me.
