*Sigh* I know I can buy the DVDs containing the back issues, but something to read on paper would be very nice too. Nothing like a good book. I mean, it would be a ton of work to re-engrave them, but it's not like they have to be translated

A "Best of Go World" anthology
What are the chances of seeing a Best of Go World book / series at some point? I think it's not widely appreciated / known among the AlphaGo generation that there are dozens (probably hundreds) of excellent quality reviews in the magazine. The only copy I have read is issue 44 which had a really fantastic saga of games from the 1986 Kisei (the opening of game 5 appeared in the Second Book of Go, there are probably more excerpts from the games in other books).

Re: A "Best of Go World" anthology
Hhm! I think the "best of go world" would be a reprint of the entire series.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Re: A "Best of Go World" anthology
I'll bow to the Dr. here as I know he's had the whole lot at one time or another.
Wouldn't it be great? A series of monographs covering the big tournaments. I wonder what order they could be organised in? And a selection of the best articles too. I mean, that's another thing that isn't really known outside the readership of Go World, that it's pro player articles written at an accessible level on topics that are useful to players' games, and articles that probably haven't appeared in the same form elsewhere.

Re: A "Best of Go World" anthology
Some of the articles in Go World did get turned into books. The only example I an think of off the top of my head is "The Great Joseki Debates" but I think there were others.
