Posted item deleted ?
I see that 2 posts about book has been deleted. It should be at least explained why it was deleted to author of posting.

I wish people would stop doing that. it makes it so hard to follow posts you've been reading and replying to.
at the very least, they should leave a rabbit trail of some sort.

I think there can be good reasons for moving a post to another section … and also no problems with doing so, IF, as you suggest, our admins would …xed_over wrote:Uberdude wrote: looks like an admin moved your post ...

In another forum I know the “unread posts” page contains an entry “Moved Post: [..]” in such cases.

On the other hand, later on people will look for a certain thread about a certain book which they expect in the book section but can't find it there because the poster didn't start it there.
So what's the point of having sections in the forum instead of just one big general section if threads don't need to be moved to the proper sections?

I don't see that moving it is a big deal. Any replies made to the thread will show up in the unread posts list. If you later want to reread it later then it is easier to find if it is in the right place, plus the search option will find it. I see no downside to correctly relocating it and plenty of upside.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Re: Posted item deleted ?
To avoid clutter in the "wrong" (original) board, could we imagine that moving a post automatically sends a message to his author, and maybe everyone that posted on the thread? Or is it overkill?
