A review of your recent tournament game. Congratulations on your win!

Also, I got the sense that you played up to yourself in this game. Do you think so, too? If you play up to yourself you can beat 5 kyus.

Perhaps the slow pace of a turn based server is good for your learning.
You played a steady game and did well in the endgame.

One thing I sensed in your play is that you think about what your opponent can do to your groups, but you do not seem to think much about what you can do to his. You missed opportunities to attack his group in the bottom right, and especially to attack his group on the bottom side. Also, in the endgame you failed to see your threats against his group in the top right corner. Strive to become a dangerous opponent. Let them worry about what you will do.

If you play up to yourself and learn to attack, there is no reason you can't reach higher than 5 kyu, even without much in the way of technical improvement. (OC, attacking will present new problems for you over the board, which you will learn to handle.)

White has ~25 in the top left, ~10 in the top right and bottom right each, ~15 in the bottom left, and maybe can get 10 from the group in the bottom center.
Meanwhile, I've got ~50 on the top, ~10 on the bottom right, and ~15 on the left, with good possibilities to expand the top (S13 or J18 for starters) and the left (B11 or B5, or even better H7).

;C[I was worried here about White getting a few extra points on the bottom and winning the game. It's rather easier to count now:
White has 24 in the top left, 10 in the top right, 12 in the bottom right, 12 in the bottom left, and 12 in the center, for 70 plus komi. 76.5
Black has 51 on the top, at least 6 on the bottom, and 19 on the left. 76.
So it's going to depend on who gets to play more sente moves to get extra points. I thought I'd get sente out of this. White has possiblities to get extra points at T14 or Q6. I can play F12 and get two points, but that's gote.
I didn't like L1 because I saw White getting a couple extra points out of it, although I think it's actually sente for me.
A4 is gote for me, I think.
*** You have a won game after W180, albeit a close one. This play is excellent! See second variation.]B[jr]
(
;C[As I was thinking about K2 in between the time I played it and White's response, I worried about M1. In hindsight, I think I needn't have.
*** Right you are. See variation.]W[js]
;B[is]
;W[ks]
;C[I'm going to get a point in gote, and have a threat at K3 to take a point away from White.
*** Yep. Whites' bad.]B[ir]
;C[Sente, but it doesn't actually gain any points.]W[mo]
;B[no]
;W[rg]
(
;C[I don't need to play R12 yet, although I'll have to play it at some point. T13 I think gains me one point in gote, while this gains two in gote.
That having been said, I think P6 is a one-point sente threat, so perhaps I could have played that first.
I think after playing this I calculated that I had done enough to win by 1.5. But I kept calculating, which made things interesting....
*** Actually, T-13 gains 3 points in reverse sente. It is obvious that White T-13 is sente, right? See variation one.
Also, this play is better at E-12. See variation two.]B[fh]
;W[eh]
;C[So I counted again.
White still has 24 on the top left. 11 on the top right, because T13 is sente. 12 on the top right plus the possibility of getting Q6, for a maximum of 13. 12 in the bottom right. 12 in the center. Total: 72 plus komi, for 78.5
Black has: 51 on top. 6 on the bottom right since Black White has all the sente moves like M1 and (I thought) S1. 21 on the left. And, one point at H1. That makes 79! I'm ahead by a half point! Now I just have to play the endgame very precisely, although at least I should be able to pull out a win.
*** A bit obsessive. Count as part of making a plan. Then stick to your plan. Things have proceeded pretty much according to plan since your last count. Show some confidence in yourself. -- Even though you missed the reverse sente at T-13.]B[ei]

;C[*** General rule. Play sente before reverse sente. See variation.]B[ao]
;W[op]
;B[oq]
;C[Since this was an online turn-based game and not a game over a real board, I was able to get up out of my chair and do a victory dance. White played a gote move before playing all the sente moves (M1)! Now I've got an extra point to play with.
But just to be certain, I did yet another calculation, and realized my score of B+1.5 after move 189 was the right one, and not the B+0.5 after 191. The thing is, I was giving White the points of territory at both Q6 and L4. But getting each of them requires a gote move (P6 and K3 respectively). So after playing all the sente moves, White gets one and Black the other, making the score B+1.5. Now that White gave up sente, it should be B+2.5.
*** The victory dance is a little premature, even though you have won the game.]W[on]
