Car music
On a random stupid whim, I've decided to make a cd of songs that specifically mention cars, driving, or things that have to do with it. I figured there would be a lot of options ot choose from. Here's the list I have so far. Any suggestions? Also, you're more than welcome to make fun of my taste in music. =D
Gasoline Dreams- Dispatch
Gasoline- Airborne Toxic Event
Car- Built to Spill
Open Road Song- Eve6
Won't Be Home- Old 97's
Taxi- Harry Chapin
Supercar- Centromatic

Re: Car music
Hmm, there's a lot of songs on my list that I don't like. Nevertheless, here's all the songs I can think of that mention cars:
Edit: I didn't originally read the part about you making a CD of songs. So, I've gone back and put an asterisk beside the songs I personally like.
Airbag - Radiohead
*Fitter, Happier - Radiohead
*Subterranean Homesick Alien - Radiohead
Think I listen to Radiohead much?
Breakdown - Relient K. (Actually, the band name itself is a reference to the Plymouth Reliant) Not one of their good songs.
Therapy - Relient K. Another song I'm not too fond of. I guess I only like this band when they don't sing about cars.
*Greased Lightning - Grease. This song is ridiculous.
*Lazy Rockets - LazyTown
Like a Racecar - Hawk Nelson.
Before he cheats - Carrie Underwood
*Tennessee Lights - Daughtry

We don't know who we are; we don't know where we are.
Each of us woke up one moment and here we were in the darkness.
We're nameless things with no memory; no knowledge of what went before,
No understanding of what is now, no knowledge of what will be.

Re: Car music
Dumb question but no one here listens to the Hikaru No Go soundtrack do they? I can't imagine pulling up to someone rocking out to it.

Re: Car music
The Distance - Cake
I wonder how accurately you can guess peoples' age by (the year of) which songs they suggest.
Edit: Man, just looking at this post again, I noticed Open Road Song by Eve 6, from their self-titled. Haven't listened to them in ages! Man, I am going to go relive 1998, also known as "The Year Starcraft came out".
Edit 2: Actually, Cake's Long Line of Cars also has cars in it. The word car is in their song Comfort Eagle. The girl described in Short Skirt, Long Jacket was trading her MG for a white Chrysler LeBaron (she wanted a car with cupholder arm rests).
Edit 3: If you're the sort of person who likes John Hiatt, Drive South, Trudy & Dave, Tennessee Plates...
