This chart shows the expected rank conversions between different systems from my personal experience and observation. Having a one to two rank difference from this chart is very common. For example, a 6d AGA player is expected to be 7d on Tygem, although their rank could range from 5D (moderately under performing) to 9D (moderately over performing).
A 3 rank or greater difference from this chart probably means any combination of:
1. being incorrectly ranked (haven't played enough recently to rank up or down)
2. significant under/over performance in a system (much worse playing online vs. over the board or vice versa)
3. exploitation (sandbag, only play with bots, only play handicap games, cheat, etc,.)
KR = Korean, AGA = American Go Association, CGA = Canadian Go Association, EGF = European Go Federation, CN = Chinese
Quote:
Tygem 9D KR 5D+ AGA 7D CGA 7D+ EGF 6D+ CN 5D+
Tygem 8D KR 5D AGA 7D CGA 6D EGF 5D CN 5D
Tygem 7D KR 4D-5D AGA 6D CGA 5D EGF 4D CN Weak 5D/Strong 4D
Tygem 6D KR 4D AGA 5D CGA 4D EGF 3D CN 4D
Tygem 5D KR 3D AGA 4D CGA 3D EGF 2D CN Strong 3D
Tygem 4D KR 2D AGA 3D CGA 2D EGF 1D CN 3D
Tygem 3D KR 1D AGA 2D CGA 1D EGF 1K CN Weak 3D
There is usually quite a strength difference among the weakest and strongest player of a system's maximum rank. For example, Tygem 9D or AGA 7D.
Don't take this chart too seriously, it's mostly for fun.
