Quintuple Ko : CHECK !
Here's a record by Ohashi Hirufumi (6p) against a strong opponent - Kubo Niwa, if google's translation is not too far off (please someone confirm), in which occured a quintuple Ko.
As far as I know, this is the first example of a quintuple ko happening in a real game. It was played on June 30th, 2013.
I'm surprised I found no mention of it on L19, maybe I just missed the thread.
You can find his short article about it here : http://blog.goo.ne.jp/minamijyuujisei_1984/e/57b92a566d71afd1af1afa169e6a6788
and you can replay his game there : http://gokifu.net/t.php?s=1601372600398612
I also add the sgf here, so in case the previous links break (or my computer crashes), at least it will be saved.
Enjoy !

Re: Quintuple Ko : CHECK !
It was probably never mentioned because it was a teaching game against an amateur in a 3 person simul. It's interesting for fun, but it didn't happen in an official pro match.

They probably just created the game record after it was all over, simply because of the unusual finish.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Yes, nice! I suppose you took the sgf from http://homepages.cwi.nl/~aeb/go/rules/quadruple_ko.html#5ko, but there no player names or dates are given.
Maybe White is Ohashi Hirofumi (6p)? Maybe Black is Kuboniwa Takashi? Maybe the game was on 2013-06-29?

Why? It is easy. At the bottom of every kifu page is a space for recording additional stones played on a point.

Re: Quintuple Ko : CHECK !
Looking at this game, I'm not sure why white doesn't take the five black stones in the top left. That seems to break the quintuple ko apart as far as I understand it, but I haven't studied it deeply. What's up with this?

I mentioned it over a year ago as being one of two quintuple ko games in the GoGoD database. The first was from 1937. Both involved amateurs, and the latest one was from a simultaneous display, so we need not take them too seriously.

Re: Quintuple Ko : CHECK !
How strong is Kuboniwa, is there any extra information about this player?
